KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies nabbed 10 suspects in a series of raids on Saturday.
The suspects included six people from the Lyari gangs and a target killer who belonged to a political party, police said.
In an early morning raid in Khokarapar area a suspect identified as Naveed was arrested. According to police officials, Naveed with his aides had killed a policeman. He was shifted to an unknown place for interrogation.
In a separate incident, intelligence officials arrested an alleged target killer Rehan alias Top during a raid at Buffer Zone area. The suspect confessed to 15 murders. He was also involved in land-grabbing and China cutting, police said.
During a search operation in Lyari six people were arrested. The suspects were identified as Naresh, Soraj, Shamu and others. Naresh was arrested from a hospital in an injured condition, police said.
The suspects had allegedly carried out a hand grenade attack in the Dasti lane area.
Local court gives sentences to political party workers
A local court announced 10 years of imprisonment to two members of a political party for carrying illegal weapons. The suspects named Taimur and Shabbir were given imprisonment under the charges of Attempted Murder and Arms Act.
The convicts had been arrested from the Sir Syed Police jurisdiction in February 2013
