ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Monday elected the Speaker of the House where Sardar Ayaz Sadiq secured 268 votes and the runner up PTI's Shafqat Mahmood secured 31 votes.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq secured 10 more votes than he had received when he was elected Speaker by the same house for the first time.
Voting ended at 01:00PM on Monday where the contest was between PMLN’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and the PTI’s Shafqat Mahmood.
The announcement of the new Speaker of the House is expected shortly.
